Will my spouse or my family be responsible for my debts if I file for bankruptcy?
No. A person’s debts are the responsibility of the individual.
The only way a spouse of family member can be responsible for your debts is if he or she co-signed for those loans. In the event that you file for bankruptcy or do a proposal the co-signer becomes responsible for the full amount of the loan outstanding
