Profile

Lloyd Wasser has been with A. Farber & Partners for more than ten years, and currently serves as a Debt Solutions Manager with the firm.  An accredited Insolvency Administrator & Debt Counselor for our firm, Lloyd is a graduate of both the CAIRP insolvency counseling program and the CAIRP Administrator’s program.  

In some of his past lives, Lloyd has served as the Regional Manager for a global consumer electronics firm, as President of the Canada-based arm of Widget Software Inc., a full-time freelance writer and editor, and even ran the front of house and box office of a well-known Toronto theatre for many years.  

Lloyd’s writing has appeared in dozens of publications over the past three decades, including Report on Business magazine, Head Office At Home, The Globe & Mail, Toronto Computes, We Compute and such US-based publications as MacHome Journal, HP OmniGo Magazine and The Palmtop Paper.  Lloyd is the recipient of two writing awards and one writing/directing award for his plays “The Hope That Survives” and “Tea and Toast” including two awards from York University.

consumer-proposal

A consumer proposal is an agreement between you and your creditors to pay them a portion of what you owe them, sometimes as little as 30%, in full settlement.

credit-counselling-afarber

Credit counseling is an option, but only if you can pay off the ENTIRE amount of your debt over several years.

bankruptcy

Many people are fearful of this option as it is not well understood. For those people who have no assets and no discretionary income, this may be the best solution.

Debt consolidation is an option only if you are able to get a NEW loan, but this is often difficult if you have been missing debt repayments.

Downtown Toronto’s Financial District is generally considered to be bound by Queen Street West to the north, Front Street to the south, Yonge Street to the east, and University Avenue to the west. This area was originally planned as New Town in 1796, an extension of the Town of York. The Financial District has grown to be the heart of both Toronto and Canada’s financial services industry and continues to grow in density with several new office buildings under construction in the area. Many of the Financial District’s buildings are connected by the underground retail shopping area known as PATH. This collection of underground shops also connects to large above ground shopping areas including the Eaton Centre, making it one of the most important shopping areas in Toronto. Each business day approximately 100,000 people commute into the Financial District, many via the recently rejuvenated Union Station, which is also expanding its retail space and will be the terminus of a new rail link directly to Pearson Airport.
